Overview

We are currently seeking experienced machine operators with a strong background in manufacturing and fabrication. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting complex machinery in a high-volume production environment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production flow, minimizing downtime, and ensuring the consistent quality of our finished products.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Set up, operate, and properly maintain advanced production CNC (Computer Numerical Control) or Industrial PC controlled machinery in one of the areas listed below.
    • Sheet Metal Fabrication:
      • Machinery: Turret Punch Presses, Lasers, Press Brakes, Panel Benders, Punch Presses, Progressive Stamping Lines, Cut to Length Lines, Robotic Welding
      • Machine Brands: Amada, Salvagnini, Prima Power, RAS, Bystronic, Schroder, Accurpress, Minster, Chicago, Red Bud Industries, Motoman Robots
    • Wire Shelf Manufacturing:
      • Machinery: Wire decoilers, Benders, Welders
      • Machine Brands: RMG, Schlatter, Ideal, AIM, Ultimation, Whitelegg
    • Glass Door Manufacturing:
      • Machinery: Various equipment to assemble insulated double and triple pane glass panels and plastic door framing.
      • Machine Brands: Lisec, GED, CSE
    • Copper Tube Processing:
      • Machinery: Cut to Length lines, Benders
      • Machine Brands: T-Drill, Burr Oak, Comco
    • Wire Harness Manufacturing:
      • Machinery: Light gauge wire processing equipment to cut to length, strip and crimp connectors.
      • Machine Brands: Komax
    • Interpret technical drawings and schematics to ensure precision and adherence to quality control specifications.
    • Efficiently set up and adjust machine settings and programs as necessary based on material and product type (e.g., sheet metal, metal wire, plastic extrusion, copper tubing, electrical wiring).
    • Perform in-process quality checks per defined procedures using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and record findings accurately.
    • Ensure all machines are running at optimal efficiency per established standards with minimal set up, scrap and downtime.
    • Ensure that machine performance data is entered in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues independently if possible and escalate complex problems to leadership, maintenance and engineering when necessary.
    • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the work area in compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards.
    • Train or mentor new operators when needed, sharing best practices, procedures and techniques.
    • Participate in lean initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and root cause analysis for recurring issues.
    • Must be physically able to stand for up to 10-12 hours of the workday on a cement floor.
    • Prolonged or sustained repetitive grasping and/or gripping with hands and sustained repetitive bending of the wrists.
    • Lift and move materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds as needed for production.
    • Perform other production duties as assigned and instructed by supervisor.
    • Work in a team environment and maintain professional communication.
    • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

 

Team members are required to follow all company safety rules, wear safety glasses, ear plugs, arm guards, steel toe shoes and other necessary safety equipment to prevent injuries. Team members are also required to follow all plant/work rules and supervisory instructions.

Qualifications

Experience and Skill Requirements

  • Prior experience as a machine operator required. Minimum of one year of experience preferred.
  • Understand basics of efficient machine set up practices.
  • Understand basic quality control standards
  • Prior machine programming experience is a plus.
  • Lock Out/Tag Out Certification preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to read and understand instructions and possess simple arithmetic skills.
  • Must be able to read tape measure
  • Must be able to work efficiently and repetitively with hands and have physical strength, stamina and coordination to perform heavy factory work.
